DESCRIPTION:
Clarens Loft consists of three self catering units and is situated in the popular tourist town of Clarens, Eastern Free State. Located in the quieter upper area of the town, the units are surrounded by a large rambling garden from which guests can enjoy magnificent uninterrupted views of the northern Rooiberg with Mount Horeb as the focal point, and the eastern Maluti Mountains bordering the Golden Gate National Park and Lesotho.
Accommodation
Unit 1 - The Loft (Sleeps 4)
The Loft can accommodate 4 people comfortably in 2 double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. An elevated patio complete with garden furniture and Weber braai, welcomes guests to this haven of peace and quiet. Through the double patio doors, a comfortable lounge complete with fireplace awaits. The kitchen is uncomplicated, open plan and is fully equipped for self catering. The Loft has one bathroom.
Unit 2 - The Garden Flat (sleeps 2)
Directly below the Loft, is a second unit which sleeps 2 in a double bed. There is an open plan lounge and self catering kitchen. A bathroom fitted with shower, basin and toilet completes the facilities. This unit opens up directly into the beautiful garden surroundings.
Unit 3 - The Welgelegen Room (sleeps 2)
The third unit is called The Welgelegen Room and this is attached to the main house with a private entrance. The room is en suite and caters for 2 with a double brass bed. Tea and coffee making facilities are available. The Welgelegen Room can be rented separately from The Loft but is ideal for the overflow of a bigger group or family.
Linen and towels are provided for all three units. There is undercover parking on the property available for two cars.

• Hiking and walking - in the surrounding hills and mountains, Golden Gate National Park (17kms), Bokpoort (10kms) & St Fort (5kms)
• 4x4 trails and Quad biking.
• Game Viewing - Golden Gate National Park and private reserves.
• Horse Riding - Bokpoort or Golden Gate
• Trout fishing - in the area
• Dinosaur fossils digging.
• Boer War sites - Surrender Hill about 10kms on the Fouriesburg Road.
• Bushman Paintings - in the surrounding hills and at Golden Gate.
• Golf - an 18 hole golf course.
• Tennis, squash and bowls at the nearby Sunnyside Guestfarm
• Basotho Cultural Village - 30mins on the Harrismith road (R712) |
