DESCRIPTION:
Highland View is a cosy self-catering double storey cottage, overlooking the Maluti Mountains and near Golden Gate in the village of Clarens. North and East facing verandahs and an upstairs balcony, offer generous views of the surrounding picturesque scenery.
Accommodation
The upper level of the house offers three comfortable bedrooms on a dark sprung wooden floor. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, an en suite shower, basin and toilet, with under-floor heating, and a private balcony for watching early morning sunrises over the Maluti Mountains. The second bedroom, north facing, has comfortable twin beds. A double bunk bed in the third bedroom completes the picture and is ideal for the kids to have their own space.
Facilities
On the lower level of the house, the lounge (with fireplace), dining area and kitchen are all open plan. The lounge has as a TV and DVD player with DSTV, SABC and e-TV channels available. DVD’s can be rented in the town. The kitchen is fully equipped for six people and includes a combination fridge/freezer, a microwave oven, as well as a glass top hob and under-counter oven.
A second bathroom, with bath, shower and toilet is situated downstairs. All floors, including, the lounge, bathroom and kitchen, are tiled and have under-floor heating. At the rear of the house, there is a laundry available to customers on request.
A unique feature of the house is that all the east and north facing doors fold back, to combine the generous patio space with the interior of the house. Sundowners and peaceful summer evenings can be enjoyed in this way, with a Weber provided for braaing.
Under cover parking is provided for two vehicles.
The Kitchen
The airy fully equipped open plan kitchen has the following: 4 plate stove and oven, Fridge / Freezer, Microwave oven, Toaster, Kettle, Coffee plunger, Kitchen utensils, Ample cutlery, crockery, glasses. Tea, Rooibos, Coffee, Creamer, and Sugar.
Location
The Clarens town square, surrounded by its galleries and top quality restaurants, is literally a minute’s stroll away. The cottage is situated conveniently enough to be close to town without having to use one’s car, and yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the scenery Clarens has to offer.
Activities
Visitors to Clarens have a variety of activities to chose from and they include,white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, tennis, squash, trout fishing, art courses, golf, abseiling, mountain trails and nature reserves which also have some bushman paintings. Enquiries for all these activities can be made at the local information centres in Clarens. In the winter, Highland View will provide uninterrupted views of the snow-covered Maluti’s.
